Committed Christians are by definition called to be leaders wherever they happen to be, family, church, work, community, society. We tend to expect of political leaders to know what stance to take when facing national tragedies. We, as Christians, must also have the courage of letting people know that we are with them in their suffering, no matter what their life style happen to be.

Sometimes, we don't realize that our own outlook on life, and attitude towards self hinder any leadership role we could take on, for the good of those around us. That is the theme of Christianity Today's article How to Get People to Respect Your Leadership. This article explores ways in which me might contribute to discrediting ourselves as leaders, and offers suggestions to avoid doing so.

What is it that helps you the most to be the person God wants you to be in whatever context or situation you are involved in?
