How do we Know If We Have Eternal Life?

A number of passages in the Scriptures, 1 John 5:13 in context for example,  lead us to believe that it is possible for a person to know now that she has eternal life. In this article we will deal with three conditions available through the Spirit of God without which it is difficult to attain and preserve this assurance that we do have eternal life in Jesus Christ.

How do we Know If We Have Eternal Life?
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life [said Jesus] (John 8:12, English Standard Version)
The first condition would be to pay a continuous attention during all of our life to what the apostles have been teaching us through the writings of the New Testament. The second is the requirement to appropriate for oneself the love of God manifested through Jesus Christ as He died in our place at the cross. The third is to actually be living in and by our trust in this love of God towards us, those we love, and towards all human beings.
